dc.description.abstract The Rf values of different organic acids and phenols have been determined employing the modified Rutter's technique of paper chromatography and basic solvents. The Rf values of aliphatic acids suggest that a clear separation of the lower members of the series is possible. The relationship between log10 (1/Rf-1)values of aliphatic acids and the number of methylene groups present in a molecule has been studied. en
