Abstract:
The tryptophanase of E. coli is not much affected by penicillin, dihydrostreptomyCin, chloromycetin, neomycin, promacetin, promin and para-amino salicylic acid but is inhibited by terramycin, aureomycin, isonicotinic acid bydrazide . and diamidin. The inactivation brought about by the last two drugs is partially
reversed by yeast extract.
