dc.description.abstract The regioselective decarboxylation during the saponification of the nitroalkanoates synthesized from the Baylis-Hillman acetates of acrylates to stereoselectively afford homoallyl nitroalkane is described. In contrast the similar nitroalkanoates derived from the Baylis-Hillman acetates of acrylonitrile gave bis allyl nitroalkanes. en
