Studies in Possible Oral Hypoglycemic Agents: Part 1-Synthesis of Some Hydantoins, Hydantoic Esters & Related Compounds

Abstract

Based on the fact that most of the synthetic oral anti-diabetic agents are built round a guanidine, a urea or a potential thiourea moiety, a number of il-substituted hydantoic esters, 3-or 5-substituted hydantoins and some of the corresponding thiohydantoins have been prepared with a view to testing them for their ,hypoglycemic activity.
