dc.description.abstract Two new sterols, 5β-stigmast-7(8)-en-3α.-ol and 5 β -stigmast-8(14)-en3α-ol, the hydrocarbon hentriacontane, the triterpenes lupeol, α-amyrtn and β-amyrin, β-sitosterol and betaine have been identified in the extracts of the plant-Daemia extensa R.Br. The active musculotropic principle has been shown to be a polypeptide. No sugar has been detected in the active material. en
