Studies in Potential Amoebicides: Part VII-Synthesis of Some 3-Alkyl-2-styryl) 8-hydroxy-(& 8-methoxy )-4-quinazolones

Abstract

Some potential amoebicidal agents, viz. 3-alkyl-(and aryl)-2-styryl-8-hydroxy-(and 8-methoxy)-4-quinazolones have been synthesized,by condensing 3-alkyl-2-methyl-8-methoxy-4-quinazolones with excess of aromatic aldehydes without employing any condensing agent.
