Chemical Examination of the Roots of Cyclea burmanni

Abstract

Two alkaloids, m.p. 220o and 165o,and D- quercitol have been isolated from the roots of Cyclea burmanni Hook. The principal base (C38 H42 O6 N 2), m.p. 220 o,has been found to be identical with tetrandine.
