Abstract:

The seeds of Emblica officinalis Gaertn. contain c. 26 percent fixed oil. 'The -oil contains 87 percent mixed acids,sitosterol, and a crystal. line substance (m.p. 124°·25°C.) giving the tests for phytosterols.
