During synthesis aimed at obtaining 4-beta-chloroethylamino and 4-bis-beta-chloroethylamino pyrimidines, it has been found that treatment of 2-chloro-4-bis-beta-hydroxyethylaminopyrimidine with hydrochloric acid or of 4-bis-beta-hydroxyethylamino-2-mercaptopyrimidine with chloroacetic acid and hydrochloric acid yields 1-beta-hydroxyethyl-5-oxo-imidazolidino [1.2-c] pyrimidine. |
