Chemical Examination of Picrorhiza kurrooa Benth.: Part V-Studies in the Synthesis of Kutkin

Abstract

α-1-Vanilloyl-6-cinnamoyl-ᴅ-glucose has been synthesized by a series of steps starting with 1,2,3,4-tetraacetyl-6-tosyl-glucose. Synthesis of β-1-vanillovl-6-iodo- ᴅ -glucose and β-1-vani1loyl-6-tosyl- ᴅ-glucose also described.
